This project buys replacement heifers at spring intake and finishes them on leased pasture with a vet-managed health programme.
The first cohort of 40 Angus heifers arrived in March and settled quickly. A second cohort of 25 steers followed a fortnight later.
Returns are earned when the animals are sold at term; feed and vet costs are tracked per batch in the livestock register.
Livestock prices move with the market and animals can die or be sold early. Past performance is not a promise of future returns.
